FULL-SERVICE COACHING

This is what we do best! We believe that coaching is so much more than writing a training plan and then sending an athlete off on their own. It's an all-inclusive approach to training with your coach as your guide and partner as you travel on your endurance journey.

FULL-SERVICE COACHING

INITIAL CONSULT
Getting to know each other is a critical first step in forming a successful Athlete/Coach relationship. We do this by having primary discussions, asking our athletes to fill out an Athlete Questionnaire and reviewing an athlete's previous training and racing data.

ANNUAL TRAINING PLAN PROCESS & DAILY TRAINING SCHEDULE
To have a successful season we must build a road map to get to an athlete's goals from where they currently are. We do this by creating a plan to get from "point a to point b." This will serve as our guide as we build daily workouts, weekly schedules and training cycles throughout the season. We understand that typically things don't go 100% to plan, and we must be fluid and adjust as we progress throughout the year. Making sure that we always keep an eye towards where we are trying to get to helps make sure that we stay on path of progress.

UNLIMITED COACH/ATHLETE COMMUNICATION & SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS
It is our belief that for a coach to be effective we have to be in constant communication with our athletes. That allows us to have a better understanding of our athletes and make regular adjustments to the training schedule so that the athlete gets the most out of their training experience. We do understand that some athletes are more communicative than others so we allow each individual athlete to set their own communication boundaries and types of communication they prefer.

HEART RATE TESTING & APPLICATION
We believe that using heart rate to guide daily training and race plan execution is the most accessible and accurate metric to keep our athletes healthy, make sure that they are progressing through their training, and to execute to the best of their ability on race day. We use a testing protocol to set initial heart rate zones and then will continue to fine tune and adjust those zones according to training and racing data analysis. If an athlete has already had heart rate testing done previously, we will use that as our starting point and then adjust as needed through data analysis as we progress.

DATA ANALYSIS AND FEEDBACK UTILIZING TRAININGPEAKS PREMIUM
We review workout data from every training session and event and provide feedback on those through TrainingPeaks. This can be technical, inspirational or educational feedback as well as answering questions asked by athletes. It is our belief that we are teachers as much as we are coaches. We want our athletes to grow intellectually as well as physically.

RACE PACING STRATEGIES
While consistent training allows athletes to develop the physical ability for a good race day, knowing how to race ensures you have the best day possible. We provide our athletes with a race day plan, utilizing heart rate and power (if available) to set our athletes up for success by making sure that they are applying the appropriate amount of effort throughout the race to finish strong.

FUELING STRATEGIES
"Fueling" applies to both taking in calories as well as fluids for hydration. We utilizing a testing protocol to provide our athletes with a fueling schedule for different race distances as well as temperature ranges. Many triathletes say that race day nutrition is the "4th discipline" and we couldn't agree more!

FORM ANALYSIS
Learning to move efficiently is an important part of staying healthy and progressing as athletes. We work with our athletes to analyze their form and provide drills to correct any deficiencies. For athletes local to us, we will do these form sessions in person. For remote athletes, we will perform this analysis by video.
